Aikido Southwest was founded by Joe Fischer Sensei and opened in Three Points Arizona, just South of Tucson, on February 11, 2017.
Aikido Southwest is affiliated with the California Aikido Association Division II, which follows the system and teaching of the Aikikai Hombu Dojo in Tokyo, Japan. Originally under the guidance of Frank Doran Shihan, the CAA Division II is now headed by Michael Friedl Shihan, chief instructor of Aikido of Ashland in Oregon.
At AikidoSouthwest we encourage regular training to continuously improve on the basics while keeping the underlying core principles (kihon) of Aikido in mind. It is only through training that technical skill and a better understanding of the art can be achieved.
Training is Monday, Wednesday, Friday from 6:00pm to 7:00pm. We welcome curious newcomers as well as all levels of Aikidoka to join us!
